Clarke throws in his hat...
The Detroit mayoral election is shaping up to be very interesting, as judging from the way Kwame has governed, probably a bit rowdy. State Senator Hansen Clarke, (D-1) announced that he is now in the race. Detroit has a lot of problems and people might look to somebody with state experience to help the city avoid an embarassing receiver from Lansing. Also in the race are Councilwoman Sharon McPhail and former Deputy Mayor Freman Hendrix. Right now, momentum will probably stand with those currently in the race, but the election is 6 months away and anything can happen. It seems unlikely that Clarke would give up his seat.
